IEC/EN62368-1 Test Report
European audio, video and information technology standards EN60950-1 and EN60065 were withdrawn on December 20, 2020. Audio, video and information technology products in Europe can only apply for EN62368-1, not EN60950-1 and EN60065
Recently, the EN62368-1 standard converted from the second edition of IEC62368-1 has been passed with high votes, and only two countries do not support it. Therefore, the CENELECCLC/TC108X Technical Committee is preparing to publish the transition date of EN62368-1 version 2, which is expected to be consistent with the five-year transition period recommended by IECTC108 (the DOW of EN62368-1 version 2, i.e. the date when member countries replace the old standard, is 2019). When the standard is published, these dates will be submitted to the European Commission for publication in the EU GUANFANG Bulletin (OJ). If the European Commission accepts these dates, the previous standards (EN60065 and EN60950) infer that the date of suspension of compliance with the low-voltage directive is also the date of withdrawal. These transition dates are very important to sell to European AV and ICT product manufacturers, because if manufacturers want to prove that their products are inferred to meet the requirements of relevant EU directives, they need to use EN62368 standards before DOW, not EN60065 or EN60950.
For enterprises: follow the pulse of the market and implement the EU regulations on new standards. Audio, video and information technology products can only apply for EN62368-1 in Europe in June 2019. The second revision of EN60950-1 (Amendment No. 2) and the eighth version of EN60065, which have been familiar and used by the technology industry for a long time, will be replaced by the new standards in June 2019.
